VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER

Objective: To improve the quality of life of young hearing-impaired people by providing and facilitating access to employment and income in order to promote their social and financial independence.

The center opened in 1998 and trains young adults in a variety of vocational skills:

·         Carpentry

·         Sewing

·         Metalwork

These particular trade skills present little or no obstacles for hearing-impaired individuals, and by excelling in these areas, trainees are able to access quality employment opportunities.  In addition, products made during training provide income for VTC employees.

Our Dream Came True:

On February 6, 2009, various religious and governmental leaders united with hearing-impaired people from the Vocational Training Center to lay the first stone for the foundation of the new premises in 6th October City.  This new location will allow us to reach our objectives by training one hundred young men and women annually from all over Egypt to be qualified in additional vocations, including:

·        Plumbing

·        Electrical

·         Barber Training

·         Computer repair

·         Car repair

·         Ear mold manufacturing
